The New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox have the most bitter rivalries in all of professional sports in thew U.S. Since 1901, the two teams have become chief rivals.

The two have have squared off in the American League Championship Series three times, the Yankees winning twice in 1999 and 2003, and the Sox winning in 2004.
